how-do-you-define-successHow do you define SUCCESS?

Most of us chase success!  I often wonder if we know what it actually means!

Do we really understand what it is we want, and what success means to us personally?

The most basic question you need to ask yourself is: ‘If I reach my goal tomorrow, does that mean I have reached the success I was looking to achieve?’

To start this off we need to define what ‘success in life’ means individually to you.

Oxford English dictionary:
Definition of success – the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, the good or bad outcome of an undertaking.

Wikipedia says:
Success may refer to Attainment of higher social status; Achievement of a goal, for example, academic achievement; The opposite of failure …

SUCCESS can be seen differently to each of us.  It is the status of having achieved and or accomplished something that is important enough for us to set it as a future goal or objective.

This is our desired vision or planned goal. It could be a very simple thing or very complicated. This is dependent on how you view success.  By achieving something does not necessarily mean we are successful.

For some, success can be a social status that describes a prosperous person, or a celebrity for a favorable outcome. The dictionary describes success as: “attaining wealth, prosperity and/or fame.”

For me, it means something very different.  It is what is left at the end of the day when I leave this life.  I want to know that what I have done has been successful and changed other’s lives.  That for me personally, would be the success.

Each person has different goals and plans in life.  Every person experiences prosperity and abundance differently.  This is what defines us individually as a person.

So let’s define the difference between abundance and prosperity.

Abundance is something that brings a return value to the heart, benefiting your inner self—body, mind and spirit—with intangible dividends.  Prosperity, on the other hand, is material wealth.  One is internal,  the other external.

Understanding how you define success in life is all important for you and your growth.  By being aware what accomplishment, success, and prosperity in general means to you in your life, gives you an opportunity to discover your own personal truths.

Success to some may be defined as having a huge mansion with luxurious cars. To others a life full of happiness and joy with family and friends.

Success in life cannot be measured by money, wealth, or tangible things.  This is only the outer shell of someone.  Real success is shown by the way you show up, the people you help and the changes you make not only for yourself but for others.

It is unfortunate that the media today portrays an image that living a successful life means to be extraordinarily wealthy surrounded by luxurious things.

For me personally, the very true meaning of success is to live a full and happy life whilst making this world a better place for everyone.

Once you have figured out what is important for you personally you can only then focus on your REAL life vision and goal.  This is shown by knowing your WHY.

True life success begins when you commit to being the best you can be.

So, stop dreaming about success.  Plan it and fearlessly pursue it by doing what you need to do to BE successful.

SUCCESS is a state of mind!
